The Gooseberries, By Anton Chekhov (1898) Rating: 6 /10 The reason why I rated this story the lowest so far is that I believe this story by Anton Chekhov entails no elements to keep the readers intrigued and more into the story itself. I do admire a lot of literary devices the author used, but none of them kept me attracted enough for me to wonder what will happen next. Other than that, I enjoyed learning about the author’s message about dreams, and how it fade away as life distracts us. But still it had less strength in delivering that message so I rated the Gooseberries 6 out of 10.
